Keeping your crown jewels comfortable can be a serious challenge by itself. It becomes more difficult when you mix in boxer briefs that are unsupportive, heavy, hot, and stiff.

Ballerz claims to provide a supportive solution to these problems with their premium boxer briefs, which are designed with comfort, breathability, and moisture-wicking features in mind. In this article we’ll take a look at Ballerz’ flagship pair of boxer briefs to see if they’re good enough for your gonads.

Bottom line: Ballerz have delivered on what most guys want in a pair of briefs. Fabric that actually wicks moisture and support without feeling like your boys are being strangled. Although the initial investment is pretty steep for a single pair, Ballerz is a great choice for any guy who wants all day comfort and no more readjustments below the belt.

It’s summer in the United States, and it’s hot.

There are few situations I’d like to avoid more than being stuck in a sweltering environment in a pair of suffocating, cotton boxer briefs that act like a pair of Chinese handcuffs, but this has been my life for far too long.

If you’re a stylish guy who likes to dress the part when visiting the city’s best new club, restaurant, or lounge, you’ll know the struggle of going out dressed to the nines in Summer heat.

It’s generally inappropriate to wear shorts in these situations, which means you could be facing an evening of stifling pants, restricted movement below the waist, itchy, hot moisture, and constant readjustment of your manhood.

I’ve been in this situation enough times to dread it: you get up from a seat and casually check to see if you’ve left a sweat mark, you shove your hands deep in your pockets and try to yank the hem of the boxer briefs down while swinging your leg out to allow space for readjustment, and the swamp in your pants gets deeper the whole time.

Enough of these non-optimal situations got me wondering if someone had created a solution to these problems, ideally in the form of lightweight, breathable boxer briefs.

Turns out, someone had. That’s when I came across Ballerz.

What Is Ballerz?

Ballerz boxer briefs package detail from front

Featuring a brand name with multiple meanings, catchy slogans like, “Everyone will want your pair”, “Just can’t get enough”, and photos of scantily clad women clutching muscled and tattooed men in tight boxer briefs, Ballerz sets the tone for their products quickly.

This premium underwear brand sets themselves apart from the competition with a patent-pending 3-D Convex Design that, in their own words, “…is the only luxury boxer brief to offer an ergonomic design that offers 100% more breathing room than the competition.”

Ballerz’ flagship boxer briefs are made from Tencel fabric, which is an environmentally-friendly fabric made from eucalyptus trees. Tencel is known for its highly absorbent properties, which allow it to quickly wick moisture away and deeply absorb dyes for rich, powerful colors.

This lightweight fabric also makes for a roomy, flexible fit. A premium pair of boxer briefs is made or broken by the fabric it’s constructed from, and in the best case scenario the fabric is light and flexible enough to feel like a second skin. Ballerz claims its boxers enable this feeling, which we’ll cover in the review section.

Their slogan, “Become the Baller you’ve always wanted to be” looks to be aimed at men who know what they want, know how to get it, and don’t want anything holding them back, especially their boxer briefs.

Things to Consider Before Buying Boxer Briefs from Ballerz

There are a few things to consider before buying boxer briefs from Ballerz

The first is your budget. If you’re a long-time patron of the Hanes six-pack of boxer briefs from Kohl’s, forking over $28 for a single pair of boxer briefs will probably seem ludicrous, especially when that same dollar amount could have gotten you at least 12 pairs of Hanes.

If you resonate with that, Ballerz likely isn’t for you.

If, instead, you’ve been a long-time patron of the Hanes six-pack but are sick of cheap, stretched elastic, heavy cotton, and holes in your undergarments after a few weeks of use, Ballerz may be worth considering.

While $28 is still a steep hill to climb, I suggest looking at this like an investment. Quality boxer briefs can last considerably longer than the generic name brand pairs, and that’s not even taking into account the way premium boxer briefs can make you feel.

If you’ve never tried a quality pair of boxer briefs with breathable fabric, high flexibility, and adequate support, you’ll never know what dollar amount to assign to a good pair of boxer briefs.

For guys who are well-acquainted with premium undergarments, the feeling of stability, security, and comfort is probably priceless, so $28 is just what it costs.

View this post on Instagram

Like anything, the experience is subjective: some guys will try out an expensive pair of boxer briefs and happily return to the familiar comfort of cheap, generic name brands, while others will set their old collection of cheap undergarments on fire and load up a cart with premium pairs.

If it’s any help, Ballerz offers discounts when you buy their boxer briefs in larger quantities. If you’re looking to grab 7 pairs it will run you $139, which brings the cost per pair down to about $20, rather than $28.

If you’re curious to dip your toes into premium boxer briefs, or you’re looking for a new mainstay brand to add to your wardrobe, Ballerz is a great place to start.

Ballerz Premium Boxer Briefs Review

The most premium boxer briefs I’ve ever tried are Calvin Klein’s flagship pairs, which are in a no-man’s land of premium undergarments that are sold at stores like Kohl’s. They were nice, but not that nice.

I decided I’d see what the hype was all about and treat myself, so I picked up a pair of Ballerz boxer briefs and in a few short days they landed on my doorstep. A happy note: Ballerz offers free shipping on all orders.

My pair of boxer briefs was packaged in a sleek, matte, zip-top bag with the cheeky greeting, “Hey, nice package!”

The first thing you’ll notice about any pair of Ballerz boxer briefs is the bold branding on the elastic waistband of each pair. They leave zero doubt of whose boxer briefs you’re repping, and in most cases they achieve this without you needing to take your pants off, due to the design.

The ‘Ballerz’ logo is woven into the 4cm waistband, directly in the center. While I find this to be a bit conspicuous, I think Ballerz’s intended audience (looking at you, Ballers) likely finds this appealing.

These boxer briefs continue their distinctive looks with bold, contrasting stitching through the legs and around the groin, which is in part due to the pouch construction, but also seems to be a design choice to “highlight”’ your goods.

Each pair also has Ballerz’s logo icon on the left thigh, which is made of two letter “B”s back-to-back, topped with a crown.

Eager to give my family jewels a break from the incessant pull of gravity, I grabbed my premium undergarment to see what the Ballerz hype is all about.

The first thing I noticed when pulling on these boxer briefs was a fairly tight leg cuff. It’s not tight to the extent that you’d be worried about losing circulation or considering its use as a tourniquet, but it’s definitely more snug than most boxer briefs I’ve encountered.

After a few lunges and knee swings, I realized this tight leg cuff is probably a good thing. Many of my day-to-day boxer briefs ride up the leg over time, which usually requires the discrete hand-in-pocket hem yank that’s not really that discrete.

My initial impression was that those hem yanks would be a thing of the past with the Ballerz boxer briefs, and after a full day of standing, sitting, lounging, and taking stairs two at a time, I can confirm this.

Another design aspect of Ballerz that I appreciate is the leg length. Many boxer briefs I had used previously leaned into the “brief” aspect of boxer briefs more than the “boxer”, which had me feeling a bit like a European beach model or WWE superstar.

View this post on Instagram

The Ballerz boxer briefs come down to just above your mid-thigh, which in my opinion is the ideal length. Shorter boxer briefs have a higher tendency to ride up into the crotch, which basically gives you a pair of whitie-tighties without consent.

A full test of Ballerz’ lofty claims could only be done through a full day of wearing their boxer briefs. Since the weather has been hot enough to put me in a perpetual state of sweating I figured there was no better time to see if these boxer briefs have the cooling comfort that warrants their categorization as “premium underwear.”

I have to say, Ballerz delivered.

In the ideal outcome of this test, I would forget that I’m even testing a pair of boxer briefs, since they’d be so comfortable and cooling that readjustment was rendered unnecessary.

That’s exactly what happened.

Not once did I have to yank the hem of the boxer briefs down after they rode up, largely due to the tight cuff, and I also never felt the claustrophobic encroach of swampy moisture after long periods of sitting or walking in the sun.

View this post on Instagram

Transitioning from sitting down to standing up is usually the pain point at which the bunching of fabric occurs, but the Tencel fabric unique to Ballerz’ undergarments is thin and stretchy enough to avoid that.

I also never felt the need to readjust my package into a more comfortable resting place. These boxer briefs provide the Goldilocks level of support: not too loose, not too tight, just right.

This, I would assume, is due to their patent-pending 3-D Convex Design, which provides an ergonomic feel. On visual inspection of the construction of the pouch which has this 3-D Convex Design, it doesn’t look that different from other pairs of boxer briefs. Whatever magic is woven into these, I’m a big fan of it.

The only feature that seems lacking is the front flap, which allows for quick relief at the urinal, especially when your shirt is tucked in and you don’t want to have to go through the struggle of retucking it.

No front flap means you have no choice but to do the unzip and pull down manoeuvre, but this may not be an issue for most guys. It could be that the absence of the front flap is necessary to the supportive comfort of the pouch construction, and if that’s the case, the lack of a front flap is well worth it to me.

What do Other Reviewers Say About Ballerz?

View this post on Instagram

Ballerz reviews are overwhelmingly positive. Satisfied customers qualified Ballerz’ claims that you’d never have to readjust your package, and also noted the soft fabric, impressive flexibility, high-quality cut and feel, and long term comfort.

Guys who don’t usually wear underwear were so enthused with Ballerz’ boxer briefs that they voluntarily admitted their free-balling habits, and said they were converting to regular undergarment use because of Ballerz.

If that’s not a powerful endorsement, I don’t know what is.

The only negative review I could find was from a self-identifying “loose cotton boxer kinda guy.” To be expected, he found them to be slightly tight, but liked the visual appeal it gave his package.

Ballerz Alternatives

Tani

View this post on Instagram

For a true luxury underwear experience, Tani is still one of our top recommendations. We first reviewed the brand back in 2016 and they still hold up strong.

The brand focuses on new and innovative fabrics to make extremely comfortable, light boxer briefs and other underwear styles. One of their fabrics, the SilkCut, is actually softer than silk.

Tani USA SilkCut Boxer Briefs

Tani makes the bold claim that their SilkCuts are “the most comfortable boxer briefs you will ever find”. After now owning them for several years, I have to agree.

Their designs are simple and clean, and they have multiple lines of underwear for each buyer, depending on whether you’re looking for extra support or moisture wicking technology.

Tani frequently has sales that can bring their prices down to $25 per pair of boxer briefs, but most are in the $45-$60 range.

If this sounds like a ridiculous amount of money, remember that these are luxury boxer briefs. Silk isn’t cheap.

Separatec

Separatec was founded in 2010 and was one of the early pioneers of pouch boxer briefs.

While there are many interpretations of pouch boxer briefs, Separatec’s patented design features two pouches, one for the jewels and another for the shaft.

This design is intended to make readjustments a thing of the past and also cut down on moisture, stickiness, and chafing.

These boxer briefs come in a huge variety of colors and are surprisingly affordable: a pack of 7 basic pairs costs $60. They have more expensive fabrics and technologies, which will cost more, but not to the level of Tani.

If you’re tired of readjusting and like sturdy ball security, check out the aptly-named Separatec.

MeUndies

meundies boxer briefs

As guys with busy schedules and a host of projects to complete, buying new underwear is often at the bottom of the priority list, which can lead to some unsavory situations.

MeUndies has offered a solid solution to this since 2011, when they started the first underwear subscription service. Once a month, you can choose a pair of their underwear, get a 30% discount off the sticker price, and have it delivered to your doorstep.

I like that this keeps my underwear selection fresh and rotating, and also lets me build a custom selection since they have fun styles and fabrics.

MeUndies are priced at the mid to high range, usually about $25 per pair, but if you subscribe to the service the cost drops to $18.

MeUndies makes the softest underwear and loungewear I’ve ever tried. While the MicroModal isn’t the greatest material for workouts, the comfort is outstanding.

My Thoughts Overall On Ballerz

What I Like

  • Ballerz’ boxer briefs are constructed with a patent-pending 3-D Convex Design that offers plenty of breathing room.
  • The Tencel fabric used in their boxer briefs is light and flexible enough to provide unhindered movement and supportive enough to avoid readjustment.
  • The moisture-wicking and cooling fabric keeps heat and humidity away for all-day comfort, no matter what climate.
  • The bold colors and distinctive branding are a good start to any outfit.

What I Don’t Like

  • There’s no front flap to allow for easy access at the urinal.

Who is Ballerz for?

Ballerz’ boxer briefs are for every guy who wants to experience all day comfort and never have to readjust their package again. Those looking to try out their first pair of premium undergarments will do well to start with a pair of Ballerz, as well as those with more experience who want a new mainstay brand.

The Verdict

Ballerz entered the saturated market of men’s premium underwear and carved out a niche for themselves.

Featuring bold colors, distinctive branding, Tencel fabric construction, and 3-D Convex Design, these boxer briefs hit the perfect balance of being light and breathable, while also supportive and flexible.

The Tencel fabric helps to keep moisture and humidity away, and the ergonomic pouch construction makes readjustments a thing of the past.

Although Ballerz’ products can seem a bit expensive, the cost is a small price to pay for the “second skin” feeling of all day comfort.

If you’re tired of heavy, suffocating old boxer briefs and want to experience superior support, flexibility, and breathability, check out Ballerz.

FAQ

How can I stop sweating through my underwear?

You can stop sweating through your underwear by switching to undergarments made of natural materials, like Tencel and other moisture-wicking fabrics.

How many pairs of underwear should a man have?

A man should have 15-20 pairs of underwear. If you do laundry every week, this will keep enough clean pairs in your locker for anything that may come up.
